Emma and Sophia Nolan made the exclusive Indiana girls Junior All-Stars list, as announced by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) on Tuesday afternoon.
The sisters were two of just 24 juniors selected state-wide to face the top 24 juniors from the state of Kentucky in exhibition action this coming June.
Emma led the Class A state-champion Lady Blazers in scoring (20.5 PPG), rebounding (8.1 RPG), steals (2.0 SPG), and blocks (1.7 BPG) this past season. Amongst all juniors in Indiana, she ranks sixth in scoring, first in field goals made (239), 10th in field-goal percentage (.593). Her 594 total points scored were second-most only to Zionsville’s Maddie Nolan (603). Emma, who outscored four of the team’s seven postseason opponents on her own, amassed eight double-doubles on the year. She has tallied 1,392 career points, which places her in fifth place on Marquette’s all-time basketball scoring leaderboard.
Sophia averaged 18.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals for the 27-2 Lady Blazers. Her 36 three-pointers led the team. She was the first Marquette girls player to reach the 1,000-point club, having done so at Oregon-Davis back on November 17th, 2017 in the team’s fourth contest of the season. Sophia accounted for five double-doubles. Her 1,452 career points are the most ever recorded by a Lady Blazer and represent the third-most in Marquette hoops history. Sophia is currently 22 points behind Jim Retseck for second place and 110 shy of Ryan Fazekas (1,562) for the all-time scoring mark.
The junior Indiana All-Stars will compete against the junior Kentucky All-Stars on June 1st and 2nd at sites to be determined.
