Freshman sensation Rose Pastoret was named First Team All-State by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association (IHSTeCA) on Wednesday.
Pastoret rattled off a 14-2 record at No. 1 singles for the Lady Blazers this past season. She was the first girls’ tennis player in Marquette history to advance to the state finals. Furthermore, Pastoret was the last freshman standing in the field amongst all classes.
She defeated Park Tudor’s Caroline Kittle in straight sets to advance to the final four before falling to fellow First Team All-State selection Madelyn Yergler of South Bend St. Joseph.
