Blazers News · Emma Nolan Adds Another IBCA District 1 Player of the Week Award to Resume

For the second time in five weeks, senior Emma Nolan represented District 1 in the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA)’s Player of the Week selections.

Nolan went off for a career-high 38 points this past Thursday versus Bishop Noll in a 78-55 victory in Hammond. The St. John’s commit shot 12-for-23 from the floor, including 4-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, in addition to a 10-for-11 line from the charity stripe. Nolan hauled in 10 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season and 31st of her Marquette career. She also tallied five assists and three blocked shots.

Nolan currently ranks 9th in the state in scoring (23.4 PPG), 8th in free-throw shooting (86%), 15th in three-point field goal shooting (42%), 41st in blocks (1.9 BPG), and 69th in rebounding (9.1 RPG).

The No. 8 Lady Blazers (15-1) return home Thursday to take on North Judson (13-2) at 7 pm CT. The Lady Bluejays were slotted at No. 5 in Monday’s ICGSA Class 2A poll.
