Marquette paid tribute to its six graduating boys soccer seniors on a picturesque Saturday afternoon at the MAC. Aidan Bartnicki, Brayden Sowers, Lee Kellom, Robert Pruzin, Romeo Bui, and Vinny Pacheco were all honored prior to kickoff of the Blazers’ match against Bethany Christian.
The Bruins bounced back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to take a 2-1 victory.
Junior Charlie O’Halloran found the back of the net in the 29th minute to put the Blazers on top. Sophomore Kieran Larkin earned the assist on O’Halloran’s second goal of the season.
Bethany Christian recorded the equalizer in the 49th minute before scoring the eventual game-winning goal with 6:37 remaining on the clock.
Marquette’s late surge was unsuccessful as the 2-1 score held up. Kellom accumulated 17 saves in net.
The Blazers (4-6-1) hit the road Monday afternoon when they take on River Forest at 5 pm.
