The Blazers grasped to a 10-6 lead after one quarter of play.
Bobillo led the charge in the second quarter. She knocked down three treys in the period as Marquette extended its lead to double digits. Blakely and freshman Ireland Riley added triples in a 22-point stanza which put the Blazers on top 32-16 at the break. Freshman Shena Fleming tallied five of her nine points in the second quarter.
Blakely guarded Marquette’s cushion with seven third-quarter points. Sophomore Ruth Bean, who finished with eight points and seven steals, chipped in four points.
