A 3-0 sweep of host Hammond Academy for Science & Technology gave Marquette its second win in as many days and boosted the Blazers over the .500 mark.
Marquette led from start-to-finish in a 25-16, 25-11, 25-20 victory.
Senior Ryleigh Grott notched a team-high eight kills with seniors Ally McConnell and Sara Molina recording five apiece. Molina and freshman Diana Fields again provided the Blazers with outstanding service play. Fields and Molina both accounted for five aces.
Sophomore Jenna Kirby and junior Liberty Riley tallied six and five assists, respectively.
Sophomore libero Mely Canelo (11) and Fields (8) combined for 19 digs in Marquette’s first road win.
The Blazers (5-4) will have a few days to rest before opening a busy week on Monday at home. First serve of the JV match versus Westville is set for 5:30 pm from the Scholl Center.
