Behind yet another balanced scoring effort, Marquette dispatched Goshen 61-47 Tuesday evening at the Scholl Center.
Kaden Manna (17), Lukas Balling (14), Brit Harris (13), and Jason Kobe (12) shouldered the scoring load for the Blazers, who improved to 8-3.
Manna added a game-high 18 rebounds to post his sixth double-double of the 2020-21 season, including his fifth in the last six tilts. Harris was active in all facets, assisting on six baskets and squeezing six boards.
The Blazers overcame a 12-8 first-quarter deficit thanks to a lengthy 14-2 run. Marquette, which maintained its patience during a deliberate first half, led 24-20 at the intermission.
The tempo ramped up in the fourth quarter as Balling, Kobe, and Manna tossed in three baskets apiece, and Marquette hung on for a 61-47 win. The victory boosts the Blazers’ winning streak to seven games.
Marquette aims to make it eight straight Thursday evening when Career Academy South Bend visits the Scholl Center. JV is slated to tip-off at 5 pm with varsity to follow at approximately 6:30 pm.
