Senior Ally McConnell continued her scoring prowess Friday night while junior Mary Kate Bobillo drained four treys in a 64-24 win over visiting Gary Roosevelt at the Scholl Center.
McConnell, who entered the evening averaging 16.7 points per game, amended her single-game watermark in scoring following a 31-point performance. Her 14 field goals (13 two-pointers and one three-pointer) were also a career-high. McConnell has now scored 106 points over her last four tilts.
Bobillo canned her first four attempts from beyond the arc. Three of her triples came in the first quarter; she connected on her fourth early in the second stanza. Bobillo, who finished with 12 points, was the other Blazer to finish in double figures.
Seven Blazers scored in the second quarter after Marquette raced out to a 21-2 first-period lead. It was 43-9 by halftime.
Marquette improved to 4-2 at home following the victory. The 24 points allowed were the fewest on the season.
The Blazers (6-7) will aim for the .500 mark Tuesday evening when they host Mishawaka Marian at 6:30 pm.
