Six goals from six Blazers were plenty as Marquette earned a 6-0 shutout over visiting Hebron Wednesday evening at the MAC.
Sophomores Kieran Larkin (18′) and Adam Tarnow (20′) struck a little more than two minutes apart to give the Blazers an early 2-0 edge.
Fellow sophomore Ethan Irsa added another goal in the 30th minute to extend the lead to 3-0, which it remained through halftime.
The Class of 2023 kept representing in the second half as Connor Bakota found the back of the net in the 46th minute.
Junior Alex Avery struck two minutes later with a shot from near midfield that caught the bottom of the crossbar before settling in the Hawks goal. Senior Romeo Bui accounted for the final goal of the evening with a nice left foot deep into the right corner of the net in the 69th minute.
Senior Lee Kellom and freshman Anthony Bondi split the shutout for Marquette, which improved to 3-4-1 as it reached the midway point of the 2020 campaign.
Junior Charlie O’Halloran assisted on two of the Marquette goals while Vinny Pacheco, Robert Pruzin, and Irsa all registered one each.
The Blazers will aim to move to .500 on the season Saturday at Washington Township (4-3). That match is part of a boys/girls doubleheader beginning at 10 am in Valparaiso.
