Eight of the nine uniformed Blazers made their way into the scoring column in an 88-13 victory over Gary 21st Century at the Scholl Center.
Freshman Shena Fleming posted a game-high 21 points thanks in part to a 7-for-9 showing from the free-throw line. Junior Ana Blakely and senior Ryleigh Grott, who dropped in 19 points apiece, were first-half forces. Both had 15 before halftime. Both finished with eight field goals and three made foul shots.
Senior Izabel Galindo accrued nine points while freshman Ireland Riley followed with eight. Sophomore Ruth Bean hit a trey for the third consecutive game as she tallied five points. Sophomores Sade Anderson-Hernandez and Addison Johnson recorded four and three points, respectively, in the fourth quarter.
Marquette (5-3) travels to East Chicago Central Saturday afternoon to face the Cardinals inside John A. Baratto Athletic Center. JV is slated to play two quarters beginning at 1 pm with varsity to follow at 2:30 pm.
