The Blazers wrapped up regular season play Tuesday afternoon at the Elston Tennis Courts with a convincing 4-1 victory over Hammond Academy of Science & Technology.

Senior Aidan McDonnell and junior Brendan Mack set the tone early on with a 6-0, 6-0 shutout of Alex Ortiz and John Tomczak at No. 1 doubles. Junior Noah Wadle and sophomore Colin Thompson followed suit with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 2 opposite Alex Lopez/Jacob Bodnar. Thompson’s doubles record improved to 9-4 with the win.

Marquette won No. 3 singles by default before Cormack Bardol recorded a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Fernando Rangel at No. 2.

HAST avoided a shutout by virtue of Zack Garcia’s 6-1, 6-0 victory versus Sean Bardol atop singles.

The Blazers open sectional play Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 pm versus Michigan City at the LeRoy Courts in Kesling Park in LaPorte.
