Senior Ally McConnell and juniors Ryleigh Grott, Riley Lindsey, and Mary Kate Bobillo all notched career bests in scoring Tuesday night in South Bend as Marquette rolled to a 63-25 victory over host Career Academy.
McConnell erupted for 16 first-quarter points as the Blazers raced out to a 27-0 lead after eight minutes. Grott joined her teammate in double figures by halftime as she had 14 at the intermission.
Marquette recorded the first 33 points of the contest en route to a 37-4 cushion after two quarters.
Lindsey scored five of her seven points in the third period while Bobillo sank her second three-pointer of the night to give her six.
McConnell added 10 points to her stat sheet in the closing half to finish with 28, amending her previous career-high of 11. Grott dropped in six more points in the third and fourth quarters to post 20.
Sophomore point guard Ana Blakely recorded two points and seven assists in the Blazers’ first road win of the 2019-20 campaign.
Marquette (2-1) continues road play Thursday evening when it visits Andrean (2-1) at 7 pm.
