Marquette was a tiebreaker away from sweeping North Judson on Wednesday afternoon at the Elston Tennis Courts. The Lady Blazers broke into the win column nonetheless with a resounding 4-1 defeat of the Bluejays.

Senior Kaitlyn Silvas kept the momentum going with a 6-1, 6-0 triumph over Cora Sailee at No. 2 singles. Junior Gianna Tedesco took the first set of her duel with Courtney Trusty at No. 3 singles 6-4, but Trusty rallied for a 4-6, 7-6, 10-6 win to salvage a point for NJSP.

The Lady Blazers controlled the tempo in doubles play as well. Michaela Jennings and Kassandra Loza upended Alex Trout/Miranda Anderson 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1. Mackenzie Bardol and Jade Isbell polished off a rewarding day with a 6-4, 7-6 victory at No. 2 over Grace Allender/Carina Kobsa.
