Senior Summer Johnson racked up nine punchouts over five shutout innings in a 14-0 rout of East Chicago Central on Monday afternoon.
The Lady Blazers set the tone early with a seven-run top of the first.

Marquette swelled the lead to 10 runs following a three-run third. The Lady Blazers were beneficiaries of a pair of passed balls, and a Molina RBI knock.
Moyer set the table in the fourth as the Marquette offense kept chugging. She drew a leadoff walk before coming around to score on a Galindo double to left. Moore crossed home via a wild pitch two batters later to make it 12-0. Mika Finney laced a two-out RBI double to add to the Lady Blazer cushion.
Senior Isabela Pacheco tacked on a run-scoring infield single in the fifth for Marquette’s final run of the day.
Johnson surrendered just one hit and one walk opposite nine strikeouts in the winning effort. Her last five outs were all strikeouts.
