For the fourth consecutive year, Marquette and Morgan Township will square off with the IHSAA Class A Sectional 49 title up for grabs.
The Lady Blazers limited Westville to 11 points over the first three quarters in a 60-23 victory in Saturday’s semifinal matchup. Sophia (19) and Emma (17) Nolan combined for 36 points while Claire Salyer and Dia Rallings pitched in eight and seven, respectively.
Marquette’s 12-4 lead after one quarter ballooned to 35-10 by halftime. The team’s defensive gem peaked in the third stanza when it yielded one point.
Seven players tallied points for the Lady Blazers in the second half as they cruised to their fourth consecutive sectional championship berth. Morgan Crook registered three points. Emmery Joseph, Ally McConnell, and Ryleigh Grott finished with two each in the 60-23 triumph.
Morgan Township upended Kouts 52-41 in the 7:30 pm semifinal contest.
The Lady Blazers (22-2) and Lady Cherokees (15-8) will meet Monday evening at 6 pm at the Scholl Center.
