The Marquette girls soccer team dropped a 13-1 contest to defending state-runner up Wheeler on Tuesday evening in Valparaiso.
Junior Riley Lindsey struck in the 49th minute to prevent the shutout. While in net, Lindsey racked up 11 saves. Freshman keeper Sydney Burroughs added nine saves.
Marquette will have a few days to prepare for its next contest. Washington Township visits the MAC on Saturday for a doubleheader. The boys’ match is scheduled to begin at 10 am with the girls tilt to follow.
