With dozens of middle school students from Marquette’s partner schools in attendance, the Lady Blazers delivered a convincing 3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-20) victory over visiting Lake Station on Wednesday evening at the Scholl Center.
Marquette set the tone from the get-go, recording the first seven points of the match. It went on to prevail in the opening set, 25-18.
The Lady Blazers opened a sizable lead in the second set before Lake Station assembled a rally that made it 23-21. Marquette took a timeout and responded by registering the next two points to close out the set.
Marquette rolled by a 25-20 margin in the final set. The Lady Blazers improved their record to 13-13 and will look to go over the .500 mark Tuesday evening they trek to Hamlet to take on Oregon-Davis. JV is set to begin at 5:00 pm with varsity to follow.
