Senior Madison Rowley recorded her first hat trick of the season to propel Marquette to a 4-1 win over River Forest on Wednesday evening.

Rowley’s first goal of the match came off a feed from fellow senior Riley Lindsey in the 10th minute.

Lindsey made it 2-0 exactly two minutes later with an unassisted goal.

Marquette was awarded a penalty kick in the 20th minute. Rowley capitalized on the chance to expand the Blazer cushion.

River Forest’s lone goal on the night also came via a PK. The Ingots converted in the 29th minute to cut the margin to 3-1 heading into halftime.

Rowley clinched the hat trick in the 60th minute with a dazzling strike on another feed from Lindsey.

Behind a two-save effort from sophomore keeper Sydney Burroughs, Marquette cruised to a 4-1 victory.

The Blazers return to the road Monday when they travel to Dyer to take on Illiana Christian at 5:30 pm.
