In her 78th and final game in a Blazer uniform, Ally McConnell registered a team-high 19 points, but Marquette fell 67-38 to Bishop Noll inside Memorial Gymnasium on the campus of Whiting High School Friday evening.
A balanced scoring attack in the first quarter kept the Blazers to within four points after eight minutes of play. Ryleigh Grott (4), Izabel Galindo (2), Mary Kate Bobillo (2), and McConnell (2) all made their way into the scoring column in the early going.
Bishop Noll parlayed a 25-point second quarter into a 39-17 halftime lead. McConnell was called for her fourth foul at the 5:15 mark of the period and did not return until the start of the second half.
By the middle of the third stanza, the Warrior lead swelled to just under 40 points. Marquette played to the very end, however. McConnell led the Blazers in outscoring BNI 15-6 in the final frame. 13 of her 19 points came in the last eight minutes.
Grott finished with eight while sophomore Ana Blakely chipped in five. Galindo had four and Bobillo contributed two.
McConnell represents the lone senior for Marquette (9-13), which saw its 14-game postseason winning streak come to an end Friday.
