Marquette rolled to a 4-1 victory over Lake Station Tuesday afternoon at the Elston Courts to improve its overall record to 5-3.
The Blazers won all three singles matches in straight sets, yielding just 10 games in the process.
Junior Sean Bardol stayed hot atop singles play with a 6-2, 6-0 win versus Antono Bermudez. The victory boosted Bardol’s record to 7-1.
Senior Cormack Bardol defeated Xavier Mudera 6-2, 6-4 in their duel at No. 2. Sophomore Colin Thompson polished off the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph versus Edgar Frasoso.
The Blazers and Eagles split doubles play.
Sophomore Riggs Bardol and senior Aidan McDonnell teamed up to beat Baylor Sleziak/Edward Frasoso 6-2, 7-6 (7). Lake Station avoided the sweep when Willie Miller and Jordan Roberts outlasted junior Noah Wadle and freshman Alex Novak 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Marquette (5-3) hits the road Thursday to face Calumet at 5:00 pm.
