McConnell Selected as News-Dispatch Softball Player of the Year

The Michigan City News-Dispatch announced that graduating senior Lauren McConnell was chosen as its Softball Player of the Year. McConnell guided the Lady Blazers to a 13-10-1 record on the diamond this past spring. She recorded a .625 batting average at the plate with 15 doubles, eight homers, and 39 runs batted in, all team watermarks.

Roder Tabbed IHSGCA All-State

Graduating senior Johnny Roder has added one more accolade to his illustrious prep career.  Roder received Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association (IHSGCA) All-State honors, as announced by the organization late Wednesday. Roder, Sakich Conclude Season at Battle Ground

  Senior Johnny Roder and junior Michael Sakich turned in rounds of 82 and 98, respectively, at Battle Ground Golf Club on Thursday morning as the Blazer duo competed in the IHSAA Lafayette Jefferson Regional.  Roder finished seven shots off the mark from earning the fifth and final individual berth into next week’s state finals.
