Just 24 hours after manufacturing a 345 team score on the par-60 Michigan City Municipal North Course, Marquette flexed its muscle on the par-72 Pretty Lake Golf Club to the tune of a 388 score. Senior Marissa Pleasant was in midseason form, carding an 84. She clinched sixth place among all individuals in the 11-team field. Her morning was highlighted by a birdie on the 330-yard No. 17. Juniors Kenzie Bonez-Shepherd and Alaïs Acosta were strong in support as they both broke 100 with rounds of 97 and 98, respectively. Senior Ava Schultz fired a 109 to help the Blazers secure a fifth-place finish overall. Tuesday's round represented Marquette's lowest on a regulation course in the last six seasons. Warsaw (347) went home with the trophy as it edged out Chesterton (348) by one stroke. Wawasee's Finley Clark claimed medalist honors with an even-par 72. Marquette will conclude a 54 holes-in-three-days whirlwind Wednesday morning when it takes part in the New Prairie Invite at Legacy Hills GC beginning at 10:30 am CT.
