Senior Marissa Pleasant scratched out a pair of birdies to go with six pars Monday morning at Sandy Pines Golf Club in DeMotte. Pleasant finished her round with an 83 to help the Blazers to a ninth-place finish at the Kankakee Valley Invite. Pleasant posted a birdie on the par-5 No. 2 before recording a three on the par-4 12th hole. She notched three pars on both nines and went a steady 42-41. Junior Alaïs Acosta carved out three pars and a birdie on the front nine en route to a finishing score of 94. Junior McKenzie Bonez-Shepherd tallied a pair of pars to finish with a 104. Senior Ava Schultz scored par on both No. 1 and No. 7 during her round of 112 to complete the scoring for Marquette. Crown Point (316) enjoyed a 16-stroke victory over second-place Munster (332) to capture the team title. Valparaiso's Kennedy Gutierrez earned medalist honors with a 69 (-3). The Blazers return home to Michigan City Municipal North Course Wednesday morning to host South Bend Adams at 10 am ET/9 am CT.
