Marquette wasted no time in placing its stamp on Sectional 49. The Blazers rolled to a 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-15) triumph over Kouts in Saturday's regular-season opener. Senior Mackenzie Snyder (13) and junior Kira Oman (12) combined to record 25 of the Blazers' 34 kills on the day. Senior Sami Schenzel posted a team-high eight digs while Snyder and sophomore Olivia Zmuda amassed six each. Zmuda and senior Madelynn Stillman led Marquette in the serving department with four aces apiece. Marquette (1-0) will open its home slate Monday evening when it welcomes Boone Grove to the Scholl Center. JV will get underway at 5:30 pm with varsity to follow.
