Marquette opened its home schedule by racing out to a 2-0 lead over visiting Boone Grove, but the Wolves assembled a comeback to edge the Blazers 3-2 (20-25, 22-25, 25-19, 25-17, 15-8) Monday night. Senior Mackenzie Snyder put an exclamation point on the first and second games with set-clinching kills. Marquette amassed nine aces before the third set began. The Blazers and Wolves played a tight third set before Boone Grove emerged with a 25-19 win. The Wolves rode the upstart momentum in the fourth game to knot the match at 2-2. Boone Grove built a steady lead in the decisive fifth set to pull away with the victory. Marquette continues a challenging corridor of its schedule Tuesday when it welcomes Andrean to the Scholl Center. The Blazers and 59ers will get underway at 5:30 pm with a C-team/JV doubleheader before a 7 pm varsity tilt.
