Marquette continued its defensive dominance Thursday in a 3-0 shutout of visiting Victory Christian Academy. Senior Sean Triemstra recorded his second clean sheet of the week as he tallied three saves. The Blazers controlled possession for much of the contest, but the Lions' keeper kept his team in the match until early in the second half. After knocking on the door for much of the first 45 minutes, Marquette broke through when a rocket off the foot of senior Tim Wadle found the back of the net. The Blazers kept the pressure on for the remainder of the night. Junior Soren Christensen added an insurance goal in the 68th minute. An Andrew Pleasant strike with 4:53 left to play was the icing on the cake. Through three contests, Marquette has posted a 6-1 goal differential. The only score it has surrendered to date came via a penalty. The Blazers (2-0-1) open a new week Monday when they head east to square off against Trinity Academy in South Bend at 6 pm ET/5 pm CT.
