Marquette opened a new week in the same dominating fashion as it closed its last one. On a night when the Blazer volleyball team swiveled the spotlight to those affected by breast cancer, MQT cruised to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 25-17) sweep of Michigan City. Senior Mackenzie Snyder, who entered Monday with just under four kills per set, brought an end to the first game with an emphatic kill. Junior Kira Oman, Marquette's leader in aces, rattled off a strong run on serve as the Blazers claimed the second game, 25-16. Sophomore Olivia Zmuda took the baton from Oman in the third game as she piloted a lengthy run that clinched the match for Marquette. The Blazers (7-1) will close out a light week Wednesday when Whiting comes to town for a C-team/JV/varsity tripleheader beginning at 5:30 pm.
