Competing in stifling heat on back-to-back days didn't stop senior Marissa Pleasant from finishing atop the leaderboard Wednesday afternoon at Long Beach Country Club. Pleasant scratched across four pars on the front nine to sign a card of 43, splitting medalist honors with La Porte's Anna Menne. Marquette compiled a 213 team score, 25 shots back of La Porte (188), and 35 strokes ahead of Michigan City (248). Sophomore Riley Meyer put together her second strong round in as many days. She posted a 55. Junior Kenzie Bonez-Shepherd finished one shot back of Meyer with a 56. Junior Alaïs Acosta and senior Ava Schultz both carded a 59. Marquette will have a week to prepare for its next match. New Prairie will visit Michigan City Municipal North Course next Wednesday for Senior Night. Marquette Athletics will honor its two graduating seniors - Pleasant and Schultz - ahead of the 4 pm start.
