Freshman Maeve Hadenfelt helped lead a charge across the final 20 minutes of Marquette's home match versus Wheeler, but the Bearcats held off the Blazers to take a 3-1 victory Tuesday evening at the Marquette Athletic Complex. A first half that was largely back-and-forth was bookended by Wheeler goals in the fourth and 39th minutes. Hadenfelt broke through in the 62nd minute on a strike inside the box. Marquette maintained that momentum for the next several minutes until Wheeler lobbed in an insurance goal with 8:54 left in regulation. Marquette (3-3) returns to the road Thursday to meet East Chicago Central at 5 pm.
