Senior Layla Clemons found the back of the net in her final match at the Marquette Athletic Complex, but the Blazers dropped a 5-1 decision to Kouts Monday night. Marquette enjoyed one of its largest crowds of the year as it celebrated Senior Night. Surrounded by family, friends, and classmates, Harper Kilroy, Anaïs Gonzalez, Jillian Downs, Pure Joy Blakely, Layla Clemons, and Sophia Williams were honored prior to kickoff. Kouts posted the first goal of the match in the eighth minute before Clemons evened things at 1-1 in 16th minute. The Fillies regained their lead just 70 seconds later. Kouts added two more goals before halftime to take a 4-1 cushion. The Blazers assembled a strong defensive effort in the second half, but weren't able to crack the code offensively. Marquette (5-7) will visit Andrean on Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm.
