Seniors Marissa Pleasant and Olivia Hazzard scored in double figures Tuesday evening to steer the Blazers to a 60-34 win over South Bend Riley at the Scholl Center. Pleasant drained three treys to amend her program-record tally for three-pointers in finishing with 16 points. Hazzard was a force on both ends of the court, pairing 14 points with five steals. Sophomore Loyalty Scott was a free throw shy of joining Pleasant and Hazzard in double figures. The steady point guard provided nine points. Marquette led 14-4 after one quarter and extended its margin to 26-14 at the half. The Blazers used a 12-0 third-quarter blitz to swell its lead north of 20 points. Senior Lily Hart registered seven points in her Blazer debut, while junior Za'Nia Mann pitched in six points off the bench. Tuesday represents the team's fifth consecutive win in its season opener. Marquette (1-0) will visit Sectional 40-foe Kouts next Tuesday in Kouts at 7 pm.
